All about slatted bed bases and especially the platter bed base from Tempur

The term slatted base is rather commonly used. Yet there is a lot of difference between existing slatted bases. And we are not just talking about what that slatted base looks like or how it is put together. The support and especially the counter pressure on your body also varies greatly depending on the type of slatted base. From where these differences come?

THE 'ORDINARY SLATTED BASE': HOW HIGH IS THE BAR?

With the "ordinary slatted base," the slats are slightly bent at a width of, say, 90cm. Each slat moves - in addition to up and down - in 2 directions. This creates a certain flexibility, but because of the distance of 90cm, this ordinary slatted base still causes some counter pressure on your body. So, in other words, the slat here is just a little less high than in, say, Tempur's disc base.

THE DISH BASE FROM TEMPUR: THE SLATTED BASE REINVENTED

Tempur has a very specific slatted base that is the result of extensive research. On each slat are small saucers with springs that move in all directions. As a result, saucer bases are much more point-elastic than other slatted bases. Sounds interesting, but what's the advantage? Thanks to that point elasticity, only those saucers on which pressure is applied "sink in". The other saucers stay in place, so your saucer base gives you much more optimal support with less back pressure. But Tempur goes further!

A 5-ZONE SLATTED BASE

The platter base from Tempur offers you a large and flexible support surface in contrast to a traditional slatted base. To offer you even better support, Tempur has also divided the saucer base into 5 zones: a soft shoulder zone, more support in the lumbar region and again a slightly softer hip zone. This ensures that the saucers can fully adapt to your body. Your body is perfectly supported and you experience the benefits of more pressure-relieving sleep.

FLAT OR ADJUSTABLE?

The Tempur saucer bed base is available in different versions. This bed base exists in a flat version or in motorized, adjustable versions for a more personalized lying position. The adjustable disc bases are - depending on the model - equipped with 2 or 4 extremely silent motors. Thus, in the version with 4 motors, you can adjust the neck, back, hip and foot zones separately. Thanks to the memory function, you always have the optimum reclining position for sleeping or reading. For those who really want to be pampered, there is even an optional massage unit available. By combining Tempur's platter base with a Tempur mattress, you'll enjoy perfect support over your entire body that feels "weightless."
